Dr. Kotha attended medical school at the Guntur Medical College & Hospital, India and doctoral studies at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. During his early research, he worked as a clinical virologist at the Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore, India. During early days of his research Dr. Kotha worked in the area of molecular epidemiology and immunobiology of retroviruses where he developed valuable serological and molecular diagnostic tools for the diagnostic and prognostic assessment of various types of retroviral diseases.
Dr. Kotha completed his post-doctoral training at the vascular Biology Center of Excellence in the University of Tennessee health science center, Memphis. During this time, he worked on vascular smooth muscle cells and platelets with emphasis on pathobiology of atherosclerosis and occlusive vascular disorders. His research was supported by grants from American Heart Association as well as pharmaceutical industry.
At CirQuest Labs Dr. Kotha is working towards the development of the Research & Development division with the objective of inventing the next generation pharmacological agents for management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS). As a researcher with years of experience in laboratory bench work and as a physician, Dr. Kotha along with the CirQuest team will continue to work towards the growth of Cirquest Labs as a facility that supports pharmaceutical and biotech industry at various stages of drug development. Dr. Kotha’s goal is to contribute towards expanding the current scope of services offered at CirQuest Labs to include molecular biology services for pharmacogenetic and genetic diagnosis.
